The lineup has been announced for the 14th Annual Heartland Hoops Classic, which will take place Feb. 13, 2021.
The upcoming event will feature three Grand Island teams as well as two high-profile national teams.
Two out-of-state favorites return to the Hoops Classic to face off against Nebraska’s best Class A teams. Sunrise Christian Academy will face 2020 Class A State Champion Bellevue West and Wisconsin commit Chucky Hepburn. Sunrise Christian’s Elite Team has produced 38 Division I players, was a 2019 Geico Nationals qualifier, and is currently ranked No. 2 on the MaxPreps Way-Too-Early Top 25.
Oak Hill Academy, a perennial national powerhouse, has produced 35 NBA players and countless Division I players over the years; the team is ranked No. 18 in the MaxPreps poll after graduating most of its starters. Millard North already was going to close its regular season next February with games against Bellevue West, Lincoln North Star and Omaha Central.
Now insert the defending Geico national invitational champion IMG Academy from Bradenton, Florida, into that eight-day stretch for the Mustangs, who are considered to have four future Division I players.

It was an all-day affair in Grand Island for the 12th annual Heartland Hoops Classic. The eight-game slate saw one upset. USA Today Super 25 No. 14 Wasatch Academy rolled to a 65-53 win over No. 13 Sunrise Christian Academy in the featured contest.

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — Tahj Glover finally showed up in the second half. Aurora’s shooters are still missing.
Glover led Omaha South past Aurora, Class B’s top-ranked team and sixth overall in the state, 57-52 in Saturday’s 10th Heartland Hoops Classic.
A 6-foot junior, Glover had 17 of his game-high 21 points after halftime.
The lineup has been announced for the 10th Annual Heartland Hoops Classic, which will take place February 11, 2017. The event will once again include eight exciting high school basketball match-ups, including the headliner game of Papillion-La Vista vs. Sunrise Christian Academy, a nationally known team out of Wichita, KS. The event kicks off at 9 a.m. and includes the following eight games:
9:00 a.m. Grand Island Central Catholic vs Elmwood Murdock
10:45 a.m. Omaha Skutt Catholic vs Gothenburg
12:30 p.m. O’Neill vs Scotus Central Catholic
2:15 p.m. Bishop Neumann vs York
4:00 p.m. Gretna vs Beatrice
5:45 p.m. St. Cecilia vs Winnebago
7:30 p.m. Omaha South vs Aurora
9:15 p.m. Sunrise Christian Academy, Wichita, KS vs Papillion La Vista
Tickets go on sale December 1, and are available at the Heartland Events Center box office and http://www.ticketmaster.com/ General admission tickets are $16 for adults and $10 for students, and are good for all eight games. A limited number of courtside seats are available for $75 each.
